FAU put on a dominating effort on Saturday evening against Marshall, defeating them by a score of 91-73.

The Owls gained the lead with 16:17 to go in the first half and never lost it, going on to lead by ten at halftime.

Marshall kept it close at the beginning of the second half closing the gap to just six points after going on a 9-0 run with 8:53 to go, but they didn’t have the momentum long.

Aleksandar Zecevic made two huge buckets on the following two possessions to put the Owls up 65-57, and they never looked back from there.

The Owls finished the Thundering Herd off with a 9-0 run that ended with 2:55 to go to put them up 80-66, and that was the dagger.

Jailyn Ingram led the Owls to victory with 16 points and 12 rebounds while also playing some stellar defense. Owls coach Dusty May had some high praise for him.

“When you have a guy you can play as your point guard and you can have him as your five-man, then you’re able to do some different things offensively,” said May.

Cornelius Taylor added 17 points and five rebounds, while Richardson Maitre had 17 points of his own with four rebounds and three assists.

Michael Forrest had a night of his own, adding 13 points, four rebounds, an assist and two steals, being a true force defensively.

Aleksandar Zecevic also added 12 points and eight rebounds, along with those huge five points to end that 9-0 Marshall run in the second half.

The Owls will be back in action against the FIU Panthers in Miami at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
