Rivka Felsher was hired in Oct. 2007 to advise Student Government after bad spending, mismanagement and a student body president impeachment led the administration to consider some additional oversight. At first they said she was a babysitter and a spy. Now, she’s considered the “SG mom” — and motherhood is why she’s leaving on June 26.
Carl Garrett Simonsen got in his kayak on the Boca Inlet to fish. He left shore at 3 p.m. on June 22 and was only expecting to be out on the water until shortly after nightfall. Instead, he spent the night battling two storms and using a Coca-Cola bottle to empty the water from his kayak.
FAU's Today & Beyond Wellness Center, along with radio station X102.3, handed out free concert tickets for the Show U Know concert for three months. The catch? Everyone had to get a free HIV test in order to get a ticket.
This month, Michael Jarvis II has coached children who prefer Nike brand sneakers. But in mid-May, he spent a day coaching children who were lucky if they even owned shoes.
