Football: Carl Pelini agrees to become FAU’s next coach

Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini has accepted FAU’s offer, becoming the next head coach of the Owls, according to fauowlaccess.com.

Athletic director Craig Angelos texted two other finalists for the job, Gary Nord (Purdue) and  Eddie Gran (FSU) informing them that another head coach had been hired, Owl Accessreported.

Pelini will be introduced at a press conference Monday afternoon. He is the brother of Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini. FAU will be his first stint as a head college coach, as Pelini has only been a head coach at the high school level. Pelini coached a high school in Ohio from 1987 to 2002.

The UP will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
