Annual theater festival starts June 19

The directors of this year’s Festival Repertory Theatre have described it as magical, unpredictable and even romantic.

Created by the FAU Theatre department, the Festival Repertory Theatre is a series of performances revolving around a single theme. This year’s theme is whimsy. The three performances — A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shipwrecked! An Entertainment and And the Tony Goes To … — will be staged in Boca in addition to a free preview on Friday the 18th at the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center.

A Midsummer’s Night Dream

The upcoming performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be directed by Jean-Louis Baldet. The show will incorporate modern wear costumes, telekinetic fairies and an innovative set design to bring forth a more contemporary version of the classic Shakespeare comedy.
