Alternative Spring Break in Washington, D.C.

Alternative Spring Break is just around the corner and this year we are going to go to Washington DC!! This Friday will be the first day that you can sign up for the trip. FAU will be hosting Cardboard Campus on our Jupiter Campus. Students are encouraged to participate in this event in order to create homelessness awareness in the State of Florida.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to the Jupiter campus to sleep outside in boxes (RAIN OR SHINE; COLD or HOT). This Friday November 14th. Event registration will begin at 6:00pm and the program will start at 7:00pm. We will be outside until 7:00am. All participants will be limited to bringing either one pillow, one sleeping bag, or a comforter. NO electronic devices will be allowed in the sleeping area. Homelessness is growing in the United States and we need to make a statement to our elected officials.

This will be the first event that you will be able to sign up for in relation to Alternative Spring Break in Washington D.C. This year we are going to be working with the Homeless in Washington DC. We will leave Florida on Friday February 27th and come back on March 6th. For more information please come to the Cardboard Board Campus event. Those that attend cardboard campus will have first priority for ASB.

Please let us know if you are coming to Cardboard Camus by RSVP to Laura Aponte at [email protected] or 561-799-8440.
