The Owls women’s soccer team engaged in a tense defensive struggle on Friday, Sept. 26 with the Lady Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky. The game ended deadlocked at 0-0, as two overtimes were not enough time to for either offense to get going.
FAU’s defense held the reigning regular season Sun Belt Champion Hilltoppers (6-0-2) to just five shots. The Owls managed to get off 14 shots while keeping the ball in Western Kentucky territory most of the time.
The Owls (1-5-1) were led by senior forward Ashley Mannarino’s four shots, while midfielder Jannica Tjeder posted three of her own.
On the defensive end, senior goalie Jessica Badders posted two saves. Defender Janelle Blake also came up with several big plays for the defense.
