A Look back from up north

MacArthur Campus continues to undergo expansion

A new student union, The Burrow, opened in August. Since then, The Burrow has continued to add to the student union with most recently a pool table, big screen TV and nine computers with Internet capabilities. The bookstore, which is now open, has also made the big move into the Burrow, greatly increasing the size of the store. Look forward for more changes in this month. Hurricane update

While the hurricanes brought many headaches for people throughout Florida, one FAU graduate student will remember the day Jeanne came to South Florida for a very different reason – it was her wedding day! Newlyweds Jon and Laura Kohler faced many obstacles on their big day, but looking back, Laura admits, “I just love it.”

Women on the move tour

As the election frenzy reached South Florida, The Women on the Move Tour, sponsored by Democratic National Committee, stopped at the MacArthur Campus to encourage women to get out and vote – for John Kerry. The Women on the Move Tour, sponsored by the Feminist Student Union, brought some famous women to the Jupiter Campus to speak to students about the upcoming election.

While major issues were discussed, such as the environment, students also got to meet Julia-Louise Dreyfus, Kirstin Dunst and Ashley Judd. About 300 people turned out – the most for any club event in MacArthur’s history.
