Scholarships

Depan International Freshman Student Scholarship-Award of $2,000 per year for a first-time-in-college freshman entering FAU on a student or scholar visa. Includes a non-resident tuition fee waiver. Renewable up to four years contingent on maintaining a 3.2 GPA at FAU and full-time enrollment

Depan Merit Recognition Scholarship-Awards of $2000 non-renewable, offered to any student who was recognized in their senior year of high school as a National Merit, National Achievement or National Hispanic Scholarship Scholar, Finalist or Semifinalist and who enters FAU after previously enrolling and completing credits at another institution of higher education

FAU Presidential Scholarship-Awards of $3,000 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen with a high school academic average of 3.5/4.0 and an SAT-I of 1270 or an ACT of 28. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement

M. Brenn Green Scholarship-Two renewable awards of $1,000 per year to first-time-in-college freshmen majoring in one of the following areas: Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Economics, Geography, Health Administration, Political Science, Social Psychology, Social Work or Sociology. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement and completion in one of the areas above

Martin Luther King Award-Awards of $2,350 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen who meet the academic requirements for admission to FAU and demonstrate financial need. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement. To determine eligibility, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Martin Luther King Scholar Award -Awards of $2,500 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen with a 3.0 GPA and 1100 on the SAT-I or 25 on the ACT

National Merit Schola-Awards of $5,000 per year are offered to qualified students named as National Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarships Corporation (NMSC). Candidates are selected by NMSC according to PSAT results. Documentation of selection as recipient is required. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement

National Merit/Achievement/ Hispanic-Scholarship Finalist-Awards of $4,000 per year are offered to qualified students named as Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) or National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Program (NHSRP), the College Board. Salutatorian Scholarship-Awards of $3,000 per year are offered to first-time-in-college freshmen that were Florida high school Salutatorians. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement

SECME, Inc.-Awards of $2,350 per year available to a limited number of students from SECME High Schools in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Students must meet the academic requirements for admission to FAU and have participated in the SECME program. Renewable for up to four years based on academic achievement. Applicants must also submit a personal essay and two letters of reference with the Scholarship Application. Apply through FAU, Division of Engineering Student Services

Valedictorian Scholarship-Awards of $4,000 per year are offered to first-time-in-college freshmen that were Florida high school Valedictorians. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement

United States Army ROTC Scholarships-Available for full-time students enrolled in the Army ROTC program. Benefit package includes payment of tuition and fees, $600 for books, and a monthly stipend during the academic year. Scholarships are limited. Apply through the ROTC Scholarship/Enrollment Officer at 305/348-1619 for additional requirements

Walter Gaeser Scholarship-Is awarded to first-time-in-college freshmen in Business. It is available to a limited number of students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is nonrenewable and quantities are limited

All Academic Team Scholars-Up to ten, $2,800 scholarships to members of the Florida Community College All Academic Team with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Renewable for up to five semesters contingent upon maintaining a cumulative 3.5 GPA while a full-time student at FAU. Deadline for nominations is June 1 for transfer in the following Fall or Spring semesters

Brain Bowl-Two scholarships of $1,175/semester for students on the winning brain bowl team. Renewable for up to five semesters or until graduation (whichever occurs first). Apply through the FAU Undergraduate Admissions Office by June 1

Community College Honors Scholarship-Limited awards of $1,400 per semester for incoming junior transfer students with a minimum 3.5 GPA and graduates of the Honors Program at a Florida community college. Student must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA. Deadline for nominations is March 1 for transfer in the following Fall or Spring semester. Apply through the FAU Undergraduate Admissions Office

Community College Scholars Award-Limited 2+2 Scholarships of $1,250 per semester for students at Palm Beach, Broward, and Community Colleges. Students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and must have received a scholarship to attend the community college straight from high school. Student must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA. Deadline for nominations is March 1 for transfer in the following Fall or Spring semesters

Depan International Transfer Student Scholarship-Depan International Student Scholarship is an award of $2,000 for a student transferring to FAU on a student or scholar visa; includes a nonresident tuition fee waiver after completion of at least one year of study at another institution. Renewable up to three years contingent upon maintaining a 3.2 GPA at FAU and full-time enrollment. Apply through the FAU Undergraduate Admissions Office by March 1

Depan Transfer Scholarship Indian River Community College– Award of $2,000 renewable up to two years offered to students transferring to FAU from Indian River Community College who meet all transfer admission requirements

M. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship-Awards of $1,250 per semester for each student at a Florida community college where there is Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Students must have a minimum 3.5 overall GPA. The scholarship is renewable for up to five semesters or until graduation (whichever occurs first) contingent upon maintaining a 3.5 GPA while a full-time student at FAU and active membership in the Alpha of Florida Alumni Association at the University. Deadline to receive nominations is March 1 for transfer in the following Fall or Spring semesters

Transfer Educational Achievement Award (TEAA)-Awards of $1,250 per semester for incoming junior transfer students from a community college with a minimum 3.5 GPA and who demonstrate financial need. Limited to U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens. Renewable for up to five semesters or until graduation (whichever occurs first) contingent upon maintaining a cumulative 3.5 GPA while a full-time student at FAU. Apply through the FAU. Undergraduate Admissions Office online. Application deadline is March 1.
