FAU’s Men’s golf team finished 10th out of 17 teams at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate at Bradford Creek Golf Course on October 19, 2004. It moved up three spots, shooting a final round 286. It’s all thanks to freshman Marco Morales, who in final round, ended with a tie for 28th. He shot a six under par during the last round.
Morales stepped up his game, improving by 11 strokes, and shooting a third-round 66 on the 7,101-yard par 72 course. Michael Berger shot one-under par while Tommy Suri finished at even par for the day. Torstein Naevestad and Joog Jo both shot a final round 77.
The Owls improved by 14 strokes from the second round to shoot the second-lowest total of the tournament. The Owls ended with a three round total 891. They finished 26 strokes behind the winner Charleston Southern (865). The host, East Carolina and Elon, finished tied for second with a score of 873, while Gardner-Webb (877) finished fourth and Longwood (880) finished fifth. FAU came in ahead of conference opponent Stetson (906), who finished 13th.
Up next for the golf team is the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate this weekend. They will be playing in DeLand, Floirda.
