The Atlantic Sun Conference honors keep rolling in for FAU athletes. For the first time this year, an FAU Men’s Soccer team athlete was picked as the A-Sun Defensive Player-of-the-Week. The FAU goalie received the honor after shutting out #25 nationally-ranked Florida International. FAU beat FIU 2-0 on September 22, 2004.
The Norwegian junior made three saves against FIU en route to the shutout. In 2003, Granstad was named to the A-Sun All-Conference Team. This year, he is well on his way to receiving the honor again, holding opponents to only .93 goals a game, which leads the conference.
The next game for the Owls is tonight at home against conference opponent Campbell at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free for students.
