Don’t forget the pitching1.The baseball team outscored their opponents 69-22 on their six game winning streak from March 21-29. Their offense did a great job, but you can’t forget about the pitching. Chris Pillsbury picked up some victories, Nesmith pitched well, and Randy Beam pitched his first complete game at FAU.
“Bring it on home”2. The softball team was swept in their double-header versus FIU on March 30. In the first game they had 5 runners left on base. You can’t win when you do that. It’s like the Led Zeppelin song, you’ve got to “Bring it on home.”
Barometer for success3. If the baseball team beats Miami on April 2, they’ll improve their national ranking. It’s interesting how beating the University of Miami is a barometer of success for a lot of FAU’s sports teams.
War for oil4. On March 31, the Men’s Golf team began play at the Amoco Ultimate/Young Oil Intercollegiate tournament – not another battle for oil. Wait a minute, I forgot, we’re “liberating” the people of Iraq.
5. The Men’s tennis team takes on the University of North Florida on April 11. I think tennis is one hell of a spectator sport. I look left, I look right, I look left, I look right…
