Poetry Festival

In honor of National Poetry Month, The University/College Library, BCC Student Life, and FAU Liberal Arts Department are sponsoring a Poetry Festival on Thursday, April 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in room 146 of the library. Cafí© Ala Carte will be serving free coffee, espresso and other refreshments as you listen to students, faculty, and staff express themselves by reading their original poetry or reciting their favorite poems.

A poem contest which was open to FAU students on the Davie campus and BCC students was held earlier this semester. The winners of the contest will be announced. Certificates and prizes will be given to the winners. There will be 16 honorable mentions (eight BCC, eight FAU). First and second place winners will be asked to read their poems.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to read an original or a favorite poem or just come by and listen. Call Dotty Callahan at 954-916-6314 or email [email protected] by March 28 to reserve your space to read your poem. For more information, call Sandra Block 954/916-6307.
