New Recreation Center Opens on Boca Campus

The new recreation center opened on the Boca campus on Jan. 5, 2009. The $11 million building includes a 6,600-square-foot fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, more than 40 cardio machines, circuit-training, free weights and a stretching area.

The facility will also offer yoga, Pilates, aerobics and spinning classes.

The multipurpose gym was built for basketball, volleyball and special events and includes men’s and women’s lockers.

Plans are also in the works to expand the fitness center in what has been dubbed “Phase II.”

Construction for Phase II will include an H-shaped pool, a lounge area and expansion to the weight/cardio room. The pool is designed with one side for recreational swimming and the other for swimming laps.
