I’ve heard rumors about this, so to settle those, here’s what happened at the AH building during break.3/10/2005-12:00 a.m. -Arts and HumanitiesFireAlarms and sprinklers were activated by a fire on the first floor. Boca Raton Fire/Rescue responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Three windows were also broken on the east and south side of the building. The State Fire Marshall is investigating this case as arson.

“Look man, I can make it rain!”3/11/2005-6:58 p.m. -Heritage Park Towers SouthCriminal MischiefSome unknown person(s) turned a water test valve sending water flowing through the fire suppression system and activating the fire alarm. Boca Fire/Rescue responded to the scene and silenced the alarm. Environmental Health & Safety assisted Residential Maintenance in shutting off the water flow.

What’s wrong with just grabbing the freakin’ ladder?!3/11/2005-5:05 p.m. -MacArthur Campus Residence HallProperty DamageA roofer climbing down from the roof access grabbed a sprinkler pipe causing it to break. There was minimal water damage. Maintenance was notified to repair the broken line.

What’s Spring Break without some hooch and ganja?3/12/2005-1:35 a.m. -IRT EastNarcotics/AlcoholThree students were issued referrals for possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol. On to more recent events…

Didn’t we just see an article about SGA spending some $13,000 on a “Communications Improvement” trip to Key West? I don’t think it worked…3/18/2005-10:51 p.m. -University CenterDisturbancePolice responded to a report of a verbal disagreement between students at a Student Government meeting. The meeting proceeded without further incident.

There is a keg at the police department. Would someone please claim it?3/18/2005-11:21 p.m. -Algonquin Residence HallAlcohol ViolationPolice observed someone enter a residence through a window. Housing and Police checked the room and discovered bottles of beer and whiskey as well as a 5.5-gallon keg. The bottles were emptied and discarded. The keg was taken to the Police Department and entered into evidence.

“Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!”3/22/2005-1:46 p.m. -S.E. Wimberly LibraryDisturbanceA verbal disagreement between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend escalated to a physical altercation. Both students declined to press charges. They were escorted out of the building.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the 48 Hour Steal-a-thon:3/21/2005-12:36 p.m. -S.E. Wimberly LibraryTheftA student reported the theft of her cell phone from the second floor computer lab. The loss was estimated at $150.00.

3/21/2005-1:44 p.m. -Boca Raton CampusLost Property A student advised that he lost his wallet on campus last week.

3/21/2005-10:04 p.m. -Heritage Park Towers NorthTheft A resident reported that some unknown person(s) stole a pair of sandals that were left outside of her room. The loss was estimated at $50.00.

3/22/2005-8:30 a.m. -IRT WestTheft A resident who locked her bicycle to a tree reported the theft of her front wheel. The value of the wheel, tire and tube was estimated at $50.00.

3/22/2005-10:56 a.m. -Visual Arts CenterLost Property A student reported that she left her cell phone on the pottery wheel. When she returned the phone was gone. The value of the phone was estimated at $400.00.
