FAU to host digital photography workshop

FAU’s Open University & Continuing Education program will host “Principles of Digital Photography,” a nine-week instructional series, beginning Monday, Sept. 9, and running each Monday evening through Nov. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m., on the Boca Raton campus. There will be no classes on Sept. 16 or Nov. 11.

Jim Wilson, a photographer with 25 years experience, veteran director and principal officer of Digital Imaging Systems, will teach the series, which is geared toward exploring the potential for creative expression through digital photography. Participants will learn about digital cameras and lenses, memory cards, scanners, printers, security and back-up procedures, image file manipulation, composition and picture structure, as well as various picture-taking techniques.

The series costs $260 and includes computer lab time. Participants must supply their own digital camera.
