UPDATE 3/9: According to Dani Moschella, the BSO public information officer, a call was placed at 6:14 p.m. on March 6 by a male who made a general threat to college campuses in Broward to a Broward Sheriff’s Office communication site. Making a hoax bomb threat is a violation of state law, and it is routine for Violent Crimes detectives to investigate such threats.

UPDATE 3/6: As of 8:34 p.m., the bomb threat on Davie campus ended. An FAU Alert read “The Bomb Threat on the Davie Campus on March 6 is now over. Return to normal business.”

A bomb threat was reported at Broward College Central Campus affecting FAU Davie Campus — which is less than a mile away — Friday evening at approximately 7 p.m.

All students have been evacuated and are advised to remain a safe distance from the campus.

A representative from Broward College Campus Safety had no comment on the matter as of 7:30 p.m.

This comes on the Friday that caps off FAU’s Spring Break, which began Saturday, March 28.
