vs. North Texas Mean Green
When: Saturday, Nov. 18, 7 p.m.
Where: Fouts Field in Denton, TX (Capacity: 30,500)
FAU 43, North Texas 10
Prediction: Most sports writers in the country think North Texas will bounce back after a two win, nine loss season to win theSun Belt in 2006. Let’s remember this team was worse than FAU last season and lost to the Owls 26-23 last year at Dolphin Stadium. After losing the last six games in a rowlast year, it should take a while for the Mean Green to get going. They open against national champion at Texas. Ouch! FAU had no problem shutting down the Mean Green offense last year, and head coach Darrell Dickey is 39-55 at the school, which is a losing record. QB Daniel Meager struggled last year and is a horrible choice to take the snaps. The North Texas defense is suspect after giving up so many points last year.
Why: Sun Belt game against the most successful team in conference history.
Watch Out: Running Back Jamario Thomas is coming off an injury-riddled 2005 season. He should shine but might be tired out by the time FAU comes to Texas.
