Top 5

First win of the year1. The women’s golf team won their first match of the semester on March 25. You know what they say: Better late then never. But congratulations are in order; they won by 17 strokes.

The list goes on2. On March 20, cross-country team member Manuel Huerta was named the 2002 Junior Male Triathlete-of-the-Year. That’s one of this guy’s many achievements. In fact, he’s got more achievements than Daryl Strawberry has drug convictions.

Baseball education3. The baseball team beat Harvard for the third time in the school’s history on March 24. Those Harvard players may be getting a top-quality academic education, but they got taught a lesson on the baseball diamond.

Why do they call it spring practice?4. The football team begins spring practice on March 26. I really think they should call it summer practice. Let’s be honest. We really only have two seasons in Florida–there’s summer and fall, and the coldest months have already passed.

Scaring the competition5. The softball team begins conference play on March 28 with a double-header versus Samford. They’ve won six conference championships in row, so if I was the competition, I’d probably run and hide.
