Offensive Coordinator Brian Wright was fired by Florida Atlantic football Sunday night, according to a source very close to the situation

Wright joined the team in the 2012-2013 season as an offensive coordinator under then-head coach Carl Pelini. He became as interim head coach at the end of the 2013-2014 season after Pelini resigned, leading the team to a 4-0 record.

Before FAU, Wright worked for Montana State, Youngstown State and Walsh University in various coaching positions during a 20-year career.

Wright is currently one of five candidates that Montana State interviewed for its vacant head coaching position.

FAU Athletics has not named a replacement for Wright’s open position.
