On Friday, a new, free, FAU specific app went live on the iPhone and Android market places. The app is compete with campus maps, course catalogs, and links to news, video, and picture libraries.
The app was created by both Blackboard and actual FAU students and replaces having to surf the official FAU website on a smart phone.
“It’s a great resource for students,” said Student Body President Ayden Maher. “It’s time for FAU to be a part of the 21st century.”
Tabs in the app include things like an event calendar, sports schedules, scores, news, and the entire FAU directory and library database.
The app is designed for not only current students, but applicants as well. The app features a specific tab for students applying to FAU. You can check an application status and even fill out an application right from your phone.
The app is still in its early stages, but plans for updates in the future are already in the works,” said Maher. “Future versions of the app will have things like real time tracking for campus trams and Amtrak.”
