The week that ended on Sept. 19 was a good one for freshman Trisha Doyle, as she was named the Atlantic Sun women’s cross country runner-of-the-week.
She finished 13th out of 194 participants in the University of Florida Gator Invitational. She did this in her inaugural collegiate event and her first try at the five-kilometer distance.
With her finish of 18:28.88, she ranks third all-time in school history. She also earned top freshman honors and was a mere one minute slower then the winner of the race. With her outstanding finish, she helped the Owls to a seventh-place finish ahead of the University of Miami, University of Central Florida, Stetson, and Jacksonville.
The next race that the women will compete in is the Disney Invitational on October 9.
