This spring Open University and Continuing Education is offering a digital photography course on teaching technical skills to new photographers and refreshing the skills of experienced photographers interested in learning digital photography.
The nine-week course, which will be taught by Jim Wilson, a 25-year veteran in the field of photography, will focus on the best choices for equipment, methods for digital file maintenance and digital image file manipulation through Adobe Photoshop. The course will cost $260 and will take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday:
- Monday on the Boca Raton campus from Jan. 27 through March 24 from 7 to 9 p.m.
- Tuesday on the Commercial Boulevard campus from Jan. 21 through March 18 from 7 to 9 p.m.
- Wednesday evenings on the Boca Raton campus from Jan. 22 through March 19 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Open University is also offering classes on Tai Chi, Meditation, and the Time-Honored Oriental Approach to Wellness.
The Tai Chi class will discuss the centuries-old martial art, which provides improved balance, reduced stress, and cardiovascular health. The eight-week program costs $80 and will take place on the Boca Raton campus Wednesday, Jan. 22 through March 12 from 6:30 through 7:45 p.m.
Meditation, the practice of spirituality and healing, has beneficial effects on health and well-being. The four-week course costs $65 and will take place on the Boca Raton campus Thursday evenings, Jan. 23 through Feb. 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Time-Honored Oriental Approach to Wellness will include the topics of Oriental Constitutional Cooking for Better Health and Nutrition; Prevention and Treatment if Pain; Oriental Aesthetics for Beautiful Hair, Skin and Nails; Oriental Alternatives to Hormone Replacement Therapy; and Western Infertility Treatment and Weight Control. The five-week program costs $130 and will also take place on the Boca Raton campus on Thursday evenings, Jan. 23 through Feb. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m.
