She Said

Although I am going to be torn apart by people who think that my view is naí¿ve or even stupid, I have to say that I believe that it is okay to stay with someone who cheats on you.

Now, I am not talking about a guy or girl who has been seeing another (or many other) people behind your back for months and months. Those people are scummy and have a tendency to carry and pass diseases. I am talking about someone who has otherwise always been fairly honest, who took part in one indiscrete act, and who seems sincerely sorry for his or her actions.

Even the most well-intentioned person will sometimes act like a jackass. But if he or she owns up to their actions, i.e. they admit they did something wrong and don’t wait until they are caught to come clean, then the relationship may be salvageable.

Don’t get me wrong. I think a cheater should be made to pay. Still, if it is a onetime thing, and if he or she is willing to admit they are scum and prove themselves to you from scratch, it might be best to cautiously give them ONE more chance.
