The Department of Student Media will host a second panel Wednesday to help students tell the difference between real and “fake news.”

Local journalists from the Palm Beach Post, the Sun Sentinel, and Politico Florida will give their take on fake news in the media. A Q&A session will take place immediately after.

Following the panel discussion, a fake news game show will be hosted by the Florida Pro chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, a national organization that works to protect journalists’ right to free speech and educates current journalists.

The panel will take place on Sept. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Majestic B room of the Student Union, while the fake news game show will run from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Burrow.

Both events are part of FAU’s commemoration of Constitution Day. For more information about Constitution Day events, click here.
