Students on Florida Atlantic’s Jupiter campus can get a workout this Saturday — and a splash of color to their wardrobe.

The MacArthur Campus Resident Student Association will host their second annual Color Run, a run around FAU’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College in Jupiter. The run is on Saturday, April 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“The color run is a really cool event,” said Matthew Merems, an economics major and honors college governor at the Jupiter Campus who ran in the race last year.

“It was great seeing so many people involved in this event, because anyone can do it,” he added. “The event got a lot of people out of their rooms to participate, and students who regularly don’t participate in college events came out for the Color Run.”

The participants will run across the Jupiter campus and will be showered with colored powder at stations along the run, similar to the 5K Color Runs hosted around the world. The course will also include inflatable obstacle courses for the runners.

“Last year, 20 to 30 residents participated in the Color Fun Run, which is a large portion of Jupiter Campus residential students. We are looking to spread the word to more students in the years to come, this is only our second year so we are still working out a few kinks” wrote MacRSA President Loren Terry an email.

The Color Run is a free event to all FAU students. Students can register on the day of the event and also RSVP on the group’s Facebook page. The event will start in the courtyard of FAU’s Jupiter campus at 2 p.m.

“I encourage all FAU students to participate in this event. It’s a great time for them to check out the Jupiter campus and see what is has to offer, and there’s a lot of things to do, including the inflatable obstacle course. Overall it’s a great event FAU hosts.” said Merems.

After the Color Run, students can check out the Glo Party. The party will include glow sticks, glow paint, black lights and a night of music. The party will be held in the dining hall of the Jupiter campus from 9-11:45 p.m. For more information about the Color Run, visit the event on Owl Central and check out the Glo Party here.
