If you got all your scantrons for free, what could you do with the money you would have spent?

On Monday afternoon, a new Craigslist ad was posted by a woman identifying herself as a former Florida Atlantic student. It’s titled “FAU BLUE SCANTRONS NEW FOR SALE – $25” and reads:

“I USED TO GO TO FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY AND NOW I’M MOVING AND HAVE ALL THESE BLUE SCANTRONS AND WOULD BENEFIT A STUDENT THAN FOR ME TO TOSS THEM-BARGAIN!”

The user named Nicole is selling 55 blue scantrons for $25. That breaks down to about 45 cents per scantron.

The UP reached out to Nicole but did not receive a response as of publication time.

The same blue scantrons Nicole is selling are available around the Boca campus for free. Students can get two free copies per visit from the Student Government office in the Student Union, the Student Union help desk, or the Wimberly Library.

Blue scantrons are also available at the campus bookstore for 37 cents each.

One thing we can all agree on? Nicole’s sale isn’t much of a deal. Another thing? Free is cheaper than 37 cents.

It may sound piddly, but check out this infographic where we show you how many bookstore scantron purchases would add up to something bigger than a sheet of paper you fill out true or false bubbles on:
