The Florida Atlantic police department reported earlier that a woman jumped from the Social Science building this morning.

“I got there a little before 10, saw paramedics tending the girl, she was missing a shoe,” said junior exercise science major Jon Viveros.

Deputies are unsure which floor the woman propelled herself from. The Social Science building has three floors. According to Viveros, the woman in question took a leap from the highest of the three.

A spectator on the anonymous social media app, Yik Yak posted “a girl climbed over the railing on the second floor of the social science building and jumped off in front of me and about 60 other students.”

They added “we know she was taken to the hospital and her ankle was completely messed up.”

Classes and campus events are continuing as normal.

No other information about the woman is known at this time. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
