Reflections and Notes:

 

Women’s Soccer:

  • Women’s soccer starts conference play next week versus UTEP and UTSA, who the Owls have not beaten in two years. In that time, they’ve tied two games and lost two against both teams.
  • The Owls’ defense has not given up more than two goals in a game this season through 10 games. In addition, they have four shutouts this season.

Football:

  • Redshirt freshman quarterback Jason Driskel set a program record Saturday with 55 pass attempts in a game. The previous mark was 54 by Rusty Smith.
  • With their loss Saturday, football is on an eight-game losing streak going back to last season.
  • FAU will play in Charlotte’s first conference game as an FBS member on Saturday, becoming part of history in the process.

Cross Country:

  • The men’s team finished fifth out of 11 teams at the Mountain Dew Invitational, hosted by the University of Florida.
  • The Women’s team finished seventh out of 13 teams in the same meet.
