Defensive end Trey Hendrickson was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft on Friday night, becoming the first FAU player drafted since D’Joun Smith in 2015.

It is safe to say that this season has not went the way Florida Atlantic football hoped for in the summer. After a 42-24 loss to the Old Dominion Monarchs last Saturday, the Owls now hold a record of 3-8 with one game left.

Facing a three-point deficit with a little under three minutes remaining, Florida Atlantic football found itself 96 yards away from the end zone. Sophomore quarterback Jason Driskel led his team down the field before finding junior wide receiver Nate Terry for a 7-yard touchdown pass to defeat UTEP 35-31.
