For the first time in its history, the Florida Atlantic football stadium will host a doubleheader leg of the 2016 Florida Cup on Sunday, Jan. 17. Atletico Mineiro and Corinthians of Brazil will serve as the first match of the doubleheader, while Colombia’s Independiente Santa Fe and North American Soccer League (NASL) side Fort Lauderdale Strikers will meet in the second game. “We definitely like the location,” operations manager Gustavo Poliak said of the choice of venue. “The stadium is beautiful, we are right next to the beach and we are working to make a mutual relationship with the university for the future.”
