As NFL teams have trimmed their rosters down to 53 players as of Saturday, several former Florida Atlantic Owls have made an official roster, some have been waived and others have made brief stints in the league since their departure from the school.
Florida Atlantic football capped up its 2016 National Signing Day Wednesday with 19 signed incoming freshmen.
According to head coach Charlie Partridge, over half the class has won district champions and three players have been in state championship games. More than half of the players were high school captains and have been all-state football players during their career.
“You’re talking about leaders and winners,” Partridge said.
