Florida Atlantic University players Lucky Whitehead, Andrae Kirk, Trevon Cooley, D’Joun Smith, Dalton Schomp, Alex Deleon, Cre’von LeBlanc, and Reggie Bain all received recognition from Conference USA for their play on the field this year.

Whitehead, a senior receiver and Virginia native, was a first-team Conference USA selection. He led the team and the conference in receptions (76), and also scored six touchdowns for the year. Senior linebacker Andrae Kirk joined him on the first team and ranked 63rd in the nation with 108 tackles on the season.

Senior defensive back D’Joun Smith received second-team honors. Smith amassed 53 tackles, eight pass breakups, an interception, a recovered fumble and a forced one this season. His versatile skill set also allowed him to return punts and kicks this season. He was 15th in the nation in kick return yards.

Sophomore punter Dalton Schomp garnered second-team special teams honors. He averaged 45.4 yards per punt—13 of which traveled farther than 50 yards. His longest on the season was 66 yards.

The C-USA honorable mention team featured senior tight end Alex Deleon, junior defensive lineman Trevon Cooley, and junior defensive back Cre’Von Leblanc. Deleon caught five touchdown passes on the year. Cooley had four sacks and an interception this season. Leblanc also played well, tallying an interception which was returned for a 76 yard touchdown.

Freshman offensive lineman Reginald Bain was named to the C-USA All-freshman team. Bain received a 97 percent grade from C-USA for his efforts this season. He allowed just two quarterback hurries and two sacks while avoiding any pre-snap penalties.
