Elections Chair Thomas Levy said there isn’t a definitive winner for the 2011 student body president elections.
Current Student Body President Ayden Maher, who’s running for re-election, received 49 percent of the student vote, while presidential candidate Christopher Puchferran amassed 30 percent.
According to Levy, the Student Government rules mandate that a candidate must acquire 50 percent of the votes plus one to be declared winner.
Current Boca campus governor and presidential candidate Allison Gentry, who garnered 21 percent of the votes, will have the chance to contest the result if she believes any of the other parties were at fault or were unfair toward her party.
Levy said they still need to wait until Friday, when the deadline for election complaints ends, to start planning the runoff election between Maher and Puchferran.
These are the unofficial results for governor elections:
Boca campus: Ryan Ebanks won with 62 percent over Michelle Hipps, with 38 percent.
Jupiter campus: Alex Lange won with 51 percent over Kadeem Ricketts, 17 percent, and Richard Smith, with 32 percent of the votes.
Treasure Coast campus: Shaunte Robinson won uncontested.
Broward campuses: Helen Pferdehirt won with 55 percent over Steven Kolk with 45 percent.
