Women’s Basketball: Owls’ Balanced Attack Leads to Third Straight Victory

A tight, evenly contested matchup between FAU (7-11, 4-4 Sun Belt) and ULM (11-8, 4-4 Sun Belt) ended in a double digit, 76-63, late-game triumph for the Owls.

Brittany Bowe and Jessica Knurick led the put away of the Warhawks in the FAU Arena. Bowe scored 23 points, a game high and tying her career high. Knurick accomplished her third career double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
“I told myself before the game I have to concentrate on rebounds. The last two times I came out I didn’t get very many,” says Knurick.

After not getting a single first half defensive rebound, she pulled down 10 in the second.
“The biggest difference between the first half and second half is Knurick. I told her she grew up tonight. Those were women amongst girl rebounds,” says head coach Chancellor Dugan.

It was more than just one or two players stepping up. Four players scored in double figures and three snagged at least five rebounds.
“We’ve made so many improvements. We’re starting to win close games, we’re not panicking at the end. It’s great to have a team win,” says Bowe.

The Owls were up just one with 3:46 left to play before they went on a 13-1 run to end the game.
