BEST PLACE TO PARTY AFTER FINALS by Meagan Perle, Staff Writer
Bombshell Party behind Coliseum Ever since I moved back to Florida from New York City I’ve been looking for that perfect club with the perfect music and the perfect scene. Finally, finally, fi-na-lly I have found my club sanctuary.
Every Friday night the Safari Lounge hosts the Bombshell behind Coliseum. The club features some of the best DJs in the area that spin everything from electronica to some remixes of the hottest tracks on the radio.
There is a real trendy vibe and the club attracts a very cultured and diverse crowd. Although it is in close proximity to the gay club Coliseum, it is not just a party for gays.
It’s 18 to party, 21 to drink, and it is well worth the drive to Lauderdale. I promise this club will not disappoint.
If you want to check the club out before you go, click over to their MySpace. 2520 S Miami Road Fort Lauderdale 33316, Phone (954) 832-0100
BEST PLACE TO LISTEN TO TUNES by Amanda Leth, Web Editor
Y100 Jingle Ball If lying on the grass and listening to rock at the Buzz Bake Sale wasn’t your idea of fun, than this weekend be sure to check out Y100’s Jingle Ball . Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Bank Atlantic Center. This year Y100 went all out getting performers like Good Charlotte, Plain White Ts, Elliott Yamin, Ashley Tisdale, Sean Kingston, Natasha Bedingfield, and Timberland just to name a few.
The ticket prices maybe more expensive, ranging anywhere from $132 to $300, but the show is worth it – even Perez Hilton, who is famous for trash-talking celebrities on his Web site, is going to make a special guest appearance.
BEST TV SHOW TO CATCH UP ONby Amanda Leth, Web Editor
I Love New York It’s the show that VH1 has been forcing down our throats by repeating episode after episode until you just can’t fight any longer.
I Love New York has made its way into my list of shows to watch. This week’s episode has you sitting on the edge of your seat just trying to figure out who gets eliminated. In the final episode Tiffany Pollard aka “New York” must choose between a nice guy with the whole package, Tailor Made and a guy who screams Cheater McGee, Buddha.
However cheesy and trashy the show might be, it fills its purpose with plenty of drama by keeping the audience in the dark.
Notes From the Underbelly Underbelly is a comedy that takes on a modern twist of the average family sitcom. A young semi-successful couple decides to get pregnant and their friends and family aren’t so excited about it.
Producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, who are known for the lukewarm comedy, Two and a Half Men, have proved that they can be edgy and hilarious with Notes From the Underbelly. The hands-down best character in the show is Cooper, played by Rachael Harris (Reno 911, Sarah Silverman Program, The Daily Show). Cooper plays an uptight promiscuous career woman who really hates children – she’s so dreamy.

Crowned: The Mother of all pageants The commercials for this show looked about as funny as a giant hammer to the head. Crowned features mother-daughter teams who compete for a $100,000 prize. And by compete, I mean strutting around looking and speaking like morons. The only thing that redeems this show is Carson Kressley (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) whose witty jokes are completely lost in the cesspool of dimwitted estrogen.
The “desashing” ceremony – yes that’s actually what its called – consists of the second-to-last team literally cutting the sashes off of the team that is to be eliminated. This episode the mother-daughter duo with the giant scissors cried and wept, “I can’t do it! I just can’t do it!” Are they for real?
