If your only plan for this Saturday night is to stalk friends on MySpace or worse yet, start that term paper that’s due in December, look no further.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, Respectable Street Cafí© celebrates 20 years with an all night street festival starting at 7 p.m. and lasting til 4 a.m. The 500 block of Clematis Street, in West Palm Beach, will be closed to make way for 20 live bands and other festivities. An open bar and free pizza will kick off the celebration from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at all the bars on the 500 block, so get there early!

All 20 of the bands have been divided up and will be playing simultaneously at five different locations: Respectable Street, O’Shea’s Irish Pub, The Lounge, Ray’s Downtown, and the main stage at the end of Clematis Street.

What makes this event really cool and unique is that it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re into the indie folk/rock of Band Marino or experimental hip-hop a la Emegency Pizza Party, you’re sure to find something that’ll satisfy your musical appetite.

If that’s not enough to get you out of your stuffy dorm room, the event also includes a Guinness World Record attempt for “The Largest Ping Pong Ball Drop” at midnight with prizes for finding any of the 17 balls marked with Respectable Street.
