Metroid Prime 3 Hit Stands This Week
By Daniel Alexander Nigro
One game that Nintendo fans have been looking forward to for a while is Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii.
Much like the previous games in the series, Metroid Prime 3 is a first-person adventure game. By that, I mean that the game is played in a first-person view, but the game play puts an emphasis on exploration and adventure over shooting. There are shooting elements in the game, of course, but like the classic Metroid games on the NES and Super NES, the exploration of vast areas is the important aspect of the game.
Much like any high-profile Wii title, the controls are an important aspect of the feature set. Here, Metroid Prime 3 takes the avenue traveled by other Wii first-person shooters in that the Wii remote is used to aim and look, and the nunchuk is used to move around. The difference here is that the controls are fluid and smooth, with perfect implementation and accuracy. Furthermore, the game provides a challenge through difficult puzzles, difficult enemies and difficult boss battles.
With a great feature set, Metroid Prime 3 is one to look out for. The game should be on store shelves this week.

“Moliere” Trailer
C’est it with Laughter
Moliere’s witty tale recounts comedy’s great renaissance through the eyes of France’s most brilliant playwright
by Phillip Valys Entertainment Writer
French playwright MoliíÂre’s abrupt transformation from failed theater troupe actor to a virtuoso of satire and dark humor baffled historians for centuries.
He revolutionized Western comic literature, but not before promptly disappearing for months. That is, until he resurfaced – his skills sharpened – and armed with enough inspiration to craft the masterpieces for which he would later become celebrated.
Director Laurent Tirant’s period biopic MoliíÂre takes a fictional speculative stab at unearthing the 17th century playwright’s greatest muse: his far-flung, wildly romantic escapades at an aristocrat’s estate.
Sporting the lazy swagger and Fabio-esque hairstyle of a rock star, pauper MoliíÂre (Romain Duris) is thrown into debtor’s prison, bailed out by a ridiculously wealthy benefactor, and then whisked to a manicured French estate. In exchange for MoliíÂre’s freedom, he must tutor the hopelessly naive nobleman Jourdain (Fabrice Luchini) in the actor’s stagecraft so he can impress a pretty dilettante (Luvigne Sagniere).
Of course, MoliíÂre’s zany adventures often belly flop into social snafus, especially his gambit to court the Jourdain’s shrewd wife while the cuckolded husband orchestrates his own desired ends. It’s safe to say nothing ends pleasantly.
It’s a vibrant atmosphere filled with foiled ploys and zany deceptions, but what”s most captivating is a smartly interwoven theme of unrequited love, longing and the seductive tactics each character uses to bed one another.
Tirard”s infectiously engaging screenplay wields all the side-splitting creative sparks that MoliíÂre later chronicled in his theater satires. Tirard dispatches a superb cast of French actors to wrestle with wacky romantic entanglements, and dazzling performances win out in the end.
MoliíÂíÂre screens Sept. 5 through Sept. 9 at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE 6th St., Fort Lauderdale). Call (954) 525-3456 for show times, or visit www.fliff.com.
