Swamp Things at FAU LibraryThe S.E.Wimberly Boca Library’s current exhibition from the Arthur and Mata Jaffe Center for Book Arts is “Paradox Swamp: Beauty, Obsession and a Strange Green Land,” centered on The Orchid Thief, a book by Susan Orlean and the selection for this year’s FAU Freshman Reading Project. The exhibition features fine press books, Florida maps from the library’s Otto Bettmann Floridiana Collection, textiles and artifacts from the Seminole and Miccosukee tribes and a number of artists’ books from the Jaffe Collection. This showcase will be displayed for the rest of the summer on the first floor, second floor of the west wing, and the Jaffe Collection area of the FAU Library on the Boca campus.

Kick Some Balls Without Getting Your Ass KickedNow that the summer is here and you’ve got some free time on your hands, why not head outdoors and do something more active than going to the mall? A Dose of Design on the MacArthur CampusFAU’s MacArthur Campus Library, located in Jupiter, is currently playing host to an ongoing exhibition titled “Blind Heritage” from now through August 11. The exhibition showcases a variety of high-concept dresses designed by FAU alum Denise Moody-Tackley, created like a ‘Project Runway’ assignment with an assortment of unlikely items such as safety pins, garbage bags, mops, doormats and mattress covers.
