If the closed doors and “Hard Hat Only” signs didn’t give it away, the Breezeway cafeteria on the Boca campus has been closed since April for renovations. The new cafeteria will sport an updated atmosphere and several new food venues.
Fast food favorites Pizza Hut and Burger King were kicked out to make room for Wendy’s and Mama Leone’s Pizzeria, both offering more varied menus and dining options.
Also among the additions are Bamboo Asian Cuisine, Chick-n-Grill, Salsarita’s Fresh Burrito and an Outtakes convenience store. Quiznos will stay as is. Needless to say, the Breezeway cafeteria got more than a makeover this summer.
According to Tracey De Jager, the director of retail operations for Chartwells, which operates FAU dining on all seven campuses, the new additions will offer a variety of options.
“You get to pick your own toppings and choose from pasta and calzones instead of limiting yourself to pizza,” De Jager told the UP earlier this summer. “Chick-n-Grill is a very exciting brand with grilled chicken burgers, wraps and phenomenal sauces.”
After four months of renovations, the new cafeteria is slated to open August 23.
