FAU alumnus will be taking on a new pair of wings as he flies into outer space.
If the weather stays clear, the shuttle will depart at 7:38 pm.
Steven Swanson and crew will be on a trip through the stars, which will be launching from Kennedy Space Center here in Florida.
Swanson will also be taking one important keepsake – an FAU banner to show how much he cares about his school.
Swanson, FAU class of ’86, mastered in computer science then took off to Texas A&M where he received his doctorate in the same field.
To show your support for FAU alumnus, go out side at 7:30 and look North.
