It’s hard to believe that another year has passed by and we are already halfway through January of 2007. It seems as if yesterday we were signing up for spring semester classes and taking exams. Before celebrating the New Year, before buying books and before starting the first day of classes, 12 months came and went.
In 2006, Student Government spent 115 days electing a student body president, undergraduate tuition increased more than $2 per credit hour, a food virus attacked the Boca campus and the Vice President of Student Affairs Emmanuel Newsome retired after an 18-year career.
Charles Brown from the University of South Florida came to replace Newsome. A new recreation center on the Boca campus is in the works and the Davie campus broke ground on a new Student Union. The Owls’ women’s basketball team had the best record in the Atlantic Sun’s regular season play and FAU finalized plans to build a stadium.
