The College of Business received $5 million in donations, appointed a new dean and began construction on a new business building in 2006.
After receiving a donation of $1 million in scholarship money, the college also accepted a $2 million donation from Office Depot, which was matched by the state of Florida, totaling $4 million in donations.
The money will be used to construct the college’s newest building, the Office Depot Center for Executive Education. This new building will serve as the focal point for the College of Business.
The college’s new dean is former Interim Dean J. Dennis Coates who was appointed to the position early last year. Coates will now oversee FAU’s College of Business.
