Florida Atlantic University’s Discovery Day Open House One of the best ways to see what FAU has to offer is to experience it for yourself by attending our FAU Discovery Day! This Open House program provides prospective students with in-depth information about FAU’s programs, admissions, campus housing and financial aid. There will be a variety of faculty and staff highlighting the features and benefits of a Florida Atlantic University undergraduate education. We encourage you to take advantage of opportunities to see and learn what FAU has to offer. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 4 in the University Center’s Grand Palm Room, which is next to the Student Services Building on the Boca Raton campus.
Saturday Morning Movie MadnessOn Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, there will be a showing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Seating is limited, so come early. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. One dollar ticket includes popcorn, drink and the movie. Ticket also enters you into a chance to win the original movie poster.
Ultimate Athlete CompetitionCome out to Quiet Waters Park on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. to see the Ultimate Athletic Competition. The competition will include individual open male and female and two-person team categories.
Health and Wellness FairThe 4th annual Health and Wellness Fair will take place Nov. 8 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the SR Atrium and The Burrow on the MacArthur Campus in Jupiter. Over 30 exhibitors will be present. Ora-Sure Rapid HIV Screening by Cap Comprehensive AIDS Program will be available. Blood pressure screening and cholesterol tests will be given by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. The Student Health Clinic and Counseling Center encourages all faculty and staff to attend.
Engineering Reception/Open HouseChart a course into one of the most exhilarating and incredible professions available today. Join us on Nov. 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Engineering Building lobby to discover how engineering and computer science careers can pave the road to an exciting future. General Education ScholarshipFlipnut Innovations offers a $500 scholarship two times a year for any current college student or student planning to attend a college, university or technical school, no matter what field of study, including international students. This scholarship is to help offset the costs of getting a good education from a solid higher-learning institution. People want to go to college for many reasons, including learning a career, advancing their existing career and sometimes just for the enjoyment of learning something new. Whatever your reason, tell us about it. There are application deadlines for each scholarship period. At the end of each scholarship application period, members of the Flipnut Innovations staff will review each application and vote on the winner. This winner will be announced shortly after the deadline period expires. He/She will be notified via e-mail and an e-mail blast will be sent out to all applicants with information about the winner.
