Five students received referrals when smoke with an odor commonly associated with marijuana emanated from the room they occupied. The referrals were for possibly tampering with the fire detection system. The case was referred to Housing.

Twelve students were issued referrals for an open house party with alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Seven FAU resident students who do not reside in Indian River Towers were issued trespass warnings from IRT. Thirteen non-FAU affiliates were trespassed from the residential areas of campus. The parents of two juveniles were also notified.

A student reported that his bike was stolen. He admitted that the bike was only secured to itself with a cable and combination lock. The value of the loss was estimated at $600.

Night Owls personnel observed an intoxicated female walking into a parking garage with keys in hand. They escorted her back to their office in University Center. Police officers responded and transported her to the Police Department where her parents collected her.

A day laborer at the College of Nursing construction site was removed from campus after a verbal altercation with the driver of a lunch truck.

A visitor was observed in a parked vehicle with an open container of alcohol. The vehicle also contained several full and empty beer cans. A computer check revealed that the sole occupant had a suspended driver’s license. The vehicle was impounded and towed by East Coast Towing. The visitor was issued a trespass warning and escorted off campus.

Police responded to a verbal altercation between a student and a cab driver over the cab fare.
