The George C. Oyasato Foundation, a non-profit corporation, will be offering classes featuring classical Okinawan life-protection arts. The style, known as Ryute, is classical Okinawan karate handed down through the generations from the ancient warrior class. The FAU dojo also teaches the philosophy and history of the Okinawan culture, as well as the application of its self-defense moves. The class is offered at the University Center on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning Wednesday, August 18, and the cost is $20. For more information call 561-860-9378.
