Reggae Sunfest (Sean Paul, Wyclef Jean, Li’l Kim and Beenie Man), Bicentennial Park, 3 p.m., $30-$99.99 Unlike the Marley tribute concert of past years, this show is a sister to the successful Jamaican version. Although always met with good vibes, past years have been plagued with long delays between acts and recurring sound problems. This year’s association with the Jamaican festival should bring legendary reggae acts, crowds of partygoers, and, hopefully, Jah’s blessing! www.reggaesumfest.com.

1 — Beck, Dashboard Confessional, Mizner Park Amphitheater, 7 p.m.
This show is worth attending for the opening acts alone! Ohio garage band Black Keys combines the best of blues and rock and roll in a rough, heartfelt way. Dashboard Confessional could wow even my granny with their highly sensitive lyrics and awe-inspiring piano. Beck will no doubt put the cherry on top of this not-quite-mainstream alterna-rock sundae with his smarmy lyrics and unconventional sound. At Mizner Park, this show will no doubt be under-attended and meet and greets could be likely…
2 — ZETA presents the Red Hot Chili Peppers with special guests: Snoop Dogg and The Mars Volta, Sound Advice Amphitheater, 7 p.m., $44 for reserved seats and $34 for lawn.
Rumors are that, given the musical flexibility of both headliners, there are bound to be onstage collaborations. Not only do the Chili Peppers have a diverse and unending repertoire, but Snoop Dogg has equal billing in this musical extravaganza. Between the Chili Peppers’ Flea and Snoop’s crew, there should be enough bass here to bring the house down!
4 — Yanni, American Airlines Arena, 8 p.m., $37.50-$67.50
6 — James Taylor, Sound Advice Amphitheater, 8 p.m., $20-$39.75
Third Eye Blind, Pompano Beach Amphitheater, 8 p.m.
7 — Rollins Band, Club Ovation, 7:30 p.m., $17.50 Fleetwood Mac, Office Depot Center, $49.50-$126.50 Norah Jones, Mizner Park Amphitheater, 8p.m., $25-$45
The 23-year-old singer/songwriter has been blessed with a combination of good genes and raw talent; the eight Grammys that she and her debut album took home prove that this combination works. Daughter of Indian sitar master Ravi Shankar, Jones has been classically trained in jazz and it shows! This small venue has already sold out, but local ticket brokers should still have tickets available…if you’re lucky. Evenescence, Pompano Beach Amphitheater, 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $18 at 949zeta.com or Ticketmaster
8 — Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Sound Advice Amphitheater, 7 p.m., $27.50-$75
14 — Peter Gabriel, Sound Advice Amphitheater, 7:30 p.m., $26.50-$87
Don’t miss the Growing Up tour. Rumored to be Gabriel’s best effort to date, his sound has come into its own, and it is apparent to fans that this last album has been worth the wait. The tour’s title may hint at Gabriel’s musical maturity, but that doesn’t mean it’s only for “grown ups”! With the assistance of Robert Le Page, the Growing Up tour should rival the highly theatrical 1993 Secret World Live tour. Hint: this may be your only opportunity to see a human in a giant hamster wheel…and $1.50 from every ticket is donated to Witness, the human rights organization.

The Dale Earnhardt Tribute Concert (Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama, Sheryl Crow, Hootie & the Blowfish and the Goo Goo dolls), Daytona Int’l Speedway
This is one show that may be worth the road trip. Instead of bridging the gap that separates rock from country, these musicians pitched a tent right in the middle and threw a party – and we’re all invited. Not only do the ladies get to swoon over Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn, the men get to ogle rocker Sheryl Crow. (Did I mention it’s at the Daytona Speedway? Need I say more?)

See Warpedtour.com for the complete list. Artists and lineup subject to change without notice.), Pompano Beach Amphitheater, 11 a.m., $28Call me sentimental, but every summer it occurs to me that despite the sweltering heat and oppressive humidity, a place does exist where underdressed teens grunt angrily and toss each other in the mud and call it moshing. Long gone are the punks and skinheads that had made a comeback on the shirttails of ska. The softer, whinier punk of today attracts a much younger, less harmful crowd. The Warped Tour isn’t about hating, man. The Warped Tour is supposed to bring different sounds together…and in doing so create a place where even classics like Rancid and Less Than Jake can pretend that they are not getting older. I never miss a Warped Tour for a reason – they always have great opportunities for local talent. Oh, and the skating!

17 — Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band, Mizner Park Amphitheater, $35-$65
24 — B2K, American Airlines Arena, 7 p.m.
28 — ZETA presents OZZFEST 2003 (Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Chevelle, and Trust Company on the main stage. Cradle Of Filth, Voivod, Memnto, Hotwire, Shadow’s Fall, Grade 8, Twisted Method, Nothingface, Killswitch, Engage, Unloco, Depswa, Motograter, and Sworn Enemy on the second stage.), Sound Advice Amphitheater, 9 a.m. Tickets are on sale now for $75.75, $65.75 and $45.75.
Now this one looks like an angry patron’s money well spent. If you are in the mood to bang your head, plan on coming early and staying late. Headliners like Korn and Disturbed will share the stage with legends the likes of Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne. Proving that Jack Daniels may be the elixir of life, here’s one heavy rocker that just won’t stop. Catch him now before he creeps back into retirement (again).
