Coach of the Year1. Men’s basketball coach, Sidney Green, was named the Palm Beach County Coach of the Year on April 14. Maybe next April he’ll be given the same award for getting his players to play hard through a tough 2003 season.
400 wins2. Coach Joan Joyce picked up win number 400 on April 13. That’s four hundred wins in only eight years. Next step: Win a regional.
Bright future3. Baseball players Jeff Fiorentino and Danny Core made Baseball America’s midseason “Best By Class” list. Fiorentino’s only a sophomore, so imagine what this guy will be doing next year and the year after that.
Don’t choke4. The women’s tennis team is the number two seed in the conference tournament so they get a first-round bye. Don’t take it for granted, though.
Swinging5. Golf is probably the only sport with more swinging than baseball or softball.
