After a slow start, FAU used a pair of multiple run innings to extend a season-high winning streak.

The Owls overcame a 4-0 deficit to defeat South Alabama 10-7 at FAU Baseball Stadium.

FAU (22-10 overall and 10-1 in conference play) has now won six straight games and eight in a row in the Sun Belt Conference.

Trailing 4-0 heading into the bottom of the third, FAU started its comeback with an RBI single from second baseman Mike Albaladejo. Then right fielder Nathan Pittman reached on a fielder’s choice, bringing in shortstop Mitch Morales, cutting the deficit to 4-2.

In the next inning, FAU center fielder Geoff Jimenez singled to left center field, scoring catcher Mike Spano. The Owls evened the game at four with a Morales RBI double, brining home Jimenez.

After South Alabama picked up another run in the fifth, FAU retook the lead for good at 6-5 on left fielder Dylan Seigel’s two-out, two-run homer.

Alex Hudak, playing in his second game after missing time with an ankle injury, was a designated hitter and had an RBI double in the sixth inning to give FAU a 7-5 lead.

Reliever Ahmed Garcia closed the game for the Owls. He allowed no runs and two hits in the final two innings.

Seigel was 4 for 4 with four RBIs. Jimenez went 3 for 5 with an RBI. Mark Nelson was 1 for 3 with two runs.

FAU plays the final game of the series on Sunday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m.
