Three people were shot a block away from FAU on Sunday, Oct. 30.  The Sun-Sentintel reported that the incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. near the 1900 block of 4th street, which is within walking distance from the University Village Apartments.

Boca Raton Police Department Spokeswoman Sandra Boonenberg said the crime may have been drug-related, according to the Sentinel.

Police officers blocked the entrance to the road into the late hours of the night, while rain fell heavily on the crime scene. As of 1:30 a.m., eight police cars were stationed in the area, blocking off all entry to the 1900 block of 4th Avenue.

It is unknown whether the victims are students at FAU or not, and the victims’ conditions are currently unavailable.
