As 2016 winds down to a close, it has been an up and down year for FAU sports. The Owls had teams vary from national champions to the worst in Conference USA and everything in between.

Arriving at the Conference USA championship game with high hopes, Florida Atlantic (6-3-1 in Conference USA) fell short against Charlotte (5-4-1 in conference) with a 4-0 loss.

Women’s soccer: Conference USA Tournament preview

Finishing out its season with a 0-1 overtime loss against Rice University, Florida Atlantic (6-3-1 in Conference USA) now prepares to face off against Louisiana Tech (6-4-0 Conference USA) in the first round of the 2016 Conference USA Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

With one more season left with the Owls and two shutouts on the season, Drinkwater needs five more clean sheets to tie the all-time program record of 25. Ryan Lynch | Editor in Chief

Women’s Soccer: Sydney Drinkwater ties program record in scoreless draw at Western Kentucky

Women's soccer ended their regular season with a trip to face the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers Thursday night, playing them to a scoreless tie in double overtime. The draw pushed the Owls’ unbeaten streak to seven games, their longest of the year.

Women’s Soccer: Emslie leads Owls in weekend sweep of UAB and FIU

Women’s soccer continued their winning streak with two wins this weekend, beating the UAB Blazers and the Florida International Golden Panthers. Their streak, which now sits at six games, is the team’s longest ever in Conference USA play.
